This Literature Curriculum aims to build analytical reading skills as well as an understanding of the literary elements and various techniques employed by authors. Stories, essays, and poems (by Jewish authors only) were carefully curated so as to be suitable for Yeshivos and Bais Yaakovs.
Some of the literary concepts covered: Plot setting, characterization, and theme, internal vs. external conflicts, similes, metaphors, and idioms, point of view and imagery, poetic devices such as rhythm, rhyme, and onomatopoeia
